About Yeong Bin Gwan

The Yeong Bin Gwan, or State Guest House, was built in 1967 by the Korean government
for the purpose of welcoming foreign visitors. In 1973 the Samsung Group took over,
and opened it to the public, along with the opening of THE SHILLA. Since then,
Yeong Bin Gwan has been used for spectacular banquets and garden parties.
The two-story, Korean-style building, is a reproduction of the splendor of the Shilla Dynasty.
The beautiful lighting enhances the magnificence of the building.
Yeong Bin Gwan is especially outstanding in structural beauty which reflects
the vitality of its construction. It also blends beautifully with the surrounding nature
making it the perfect symbol of Korean traditional beauty. As the night comes, the spectacular lights makes the view more elegant and the pretty eaves look outstanding.
Also the window and door in flower shape, picture with various colors and well shape of
decoration at the ceiling, it reproduces olden days of traditional construction which makes
to enjoy the soul of the building. Its grand backyard offers a well manicured garden and stunning view of Namsan
Mountain.Yeong Bin Gwan has been host to exciting events, such as jazz concerts and
during the summer, barbecue parties, and impressive receptions. The stroll road which
encloses Yeong Bin Gwan has 100 sculptures are exhibited made by 40 artists in domestic
as well as international which gives unique pleasure to visitors.
